How can I fix my Sky cable?

Some kids recently cut my sky cable outside my house and now I am unable to watch digital tv. I was wondering if the cable can be repair or will I need a new cable to go from my satelite dish to my digi box?

You can splice the cable together. You will need a couple of connectors and a splice from Radio Shack. They might give you some advice on how to prep the cable for the connectors. You might need to buy a crimp tool also in order to crimp the connectors once you slip them onto the cable. But you could possibly crimp them with some pliars to keep them in place. Your splice probably won't be waterproof, so you might want to wrap your splice in electrical tape afterwards. Good luck!

You can fix it yourself. You need two regular "F" connectors and a female to female joint. Fit an F connector to the ends of the cut cables and then connect the two ends using the joint. Tape over the whole thing using self-amalgamating tape. Geyt all this from a good DIY store.

Beware do this with the Sky box unplugged from the mains and the signal cable disconnected and don't short any of the wires when you are fitting the F connectors. This is because the cable carries a small voltage. Get it wrong and your Sky box is toast.
