How do I get the top cover off the Kenwood Chef 901A?

I am following the notes given by "kickstart" in December 2011 for dismantling the motor from our Kewood 901A and still can't get the plastic top cover off! The back has been released by removing the three scres as suggested, but the front (by the red lever to remove the beaters) still seems to be fixed. The black panel on the front seems to be fixed in the middle, and I dont like to put too much pull on it to remove it!
Any ideas gratefully accepted!

You pulll the red lever towards you and the front cover with Kenwood logo will come off, then it's simple. You need to pull the level hard until it releases the cover.
