How do I fix my Matsui VP 9608?

This video works okay with terrestrial channels but when set to AV for satellite TV records only static. I've read the manuals for both video and Sky but can't see any way to fix it. It worked okay in the past and as it still records terrestrial fine I'm loath to junk it.

Any advice appreciated.

first put the tv on the video channel.
then set the vcr onto AV. check you get to see the skybox thru the vcr. check the digibox setup menu has enabled the scart composite output.

if so, then the connections are probably ok press record and tape a minute or two, then play it back. if no good try recording from ch 1 or 2 etc, if still no good clean the vcr heads as per www.repairfaq.org vcr troubleshooting page.

Have you correctly plugged the sky box into the video recorder and not the TV. The video will also need to be retuned to "find" the sat channels
