smell of unburnt gas when boiler lights up?

I have a Baxi Solo 3 PFL boiler room sealed. It has a recently fitted rope seal to the combustion chamber but it still smells of unburnt gas each time it lights up. Has anyone experienced the same problem or can anyone help me solve this problem.

Hi Steve,

I have a similar problem, on the same model. Anything you can tell me as to how you resolved the problem? I have not had any recent work done.
Appreciate your response,

Rgds,

Have your flue checked and chimney swept if nesccesary this sounds as though your sealing is not as good as it should be (room sealing that is) This combined with a poor draught could lead to this problem. All boilers produce a modicum of unburnt gas on start-up it's the nature of the beast so to speak. Also get the guy who fitted the new rope seal to come back and check it.
