HOW DO I FORMAT DVD'S?

I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO FORMAT MY DVD'S BY A PROFESSIONAL. MY VERSION OF NERO BURNER DOES NOT HAVE THIS FACILITY. WHEN BURNING, THE COMPUTER TELLS ME TO INSERT A DISK WHEN THERE IS ALREADY ONE IN THE DRAWER, OR IT TELLS ME THE DISK IS FULL WHICH IT IS NOT.

hi right lol are trying to format dvd-r or dvd+r's ? you can NOT format these. dvd -r w's and dvd +r w's you can format. you dont need to use nero to format them.
1. insert disc
2 go to my computer and find the drive that has the disc in
3. RIGHT click on it and there you will see format click on it
4. now you will see quick format and format. its best to do a full format.
ok i hope ive solved it for you!

try inserting a proper softwaredvd and then click my computer and see if the dvd has recognised it by displaying the name of the dvd, if not then use a cleaning dvd in the drive as the lens could be dirty, have you tried using another burning software.

Terry,
Many thanks for your advice.

I suspect that it's not the computer telling you anything. It sounds like you have a problem with the software that you use for burning. So you need to take it up with Nero.
