how difficult? that depends on how good you are with your hands but yes it can be fitted easily with experience. start by removing the old one which is held in place by a spring type retainer which must be prized off out over old gasket, new gasket offered up to drum with drain hole at six oc position and with both hands working the gasket downwards from top until it fits into position, then the same with the retainer spring. you should be in fine form for a pint of ale after all of that
