You need to enter the BIOS setup when you boot the computer. Usualy, you use the Del key, but it may be another one. Check the POST text, near the bottom left of the screen.
From there, you need to disable the onboard graphics and allow the use of the real graphic card that you added.
You should also set the reserved video memory to zero as it will no longer be needed.
You also must connect the monitor to the graphic card connector, not the one from the motherboard.
