Fisher and paykel imbalance switch?

My machine got out of balance yesterday and now fills, turns, stops and repeats this.

Ok that is error code 43 which is an out of balance switch fault. It is reading that the switch is on when it should be off. If you can hear it click then maybe it has corrosion in it giving a bad reading. You will need to inspect the switch. Turn power off at wall. Remove lid by pulling up and out at hinges. Remove 2 screws holding panel & tilt it forward, you can unplug harness for display board from main controller and move panel out of way. Remove 1 X screw at front edge of main control box & lift box up. No need to take it right out. Underneath on R.H. side you will see a microswitch. Remove the 2 wires & pull switch out. Be careful to not break the 2 mounting pins. Check for corrosion or button sticking in. Replace the switch with a new one would be best. 2 wires can go back either way around. Put box back down, replace screw & plug panel back in. Screw panel back & put lid back on. Job done.

Lights 3 & 5 green, 7 orange, 8 red. Thanks.

Ok. Would of been quicker result if you mentioned the beeping b4. When it beeps, the lights along the top row will change and show an error code. Count from left to right and tell me which lights are on and which are off. There are 8 lights. I need the exact sequence. I can then tell you what that error code is and what it means.

It fills for a moment, while turning then stops (sounds like it wants to turn) then fills for another moment and repeats this. When on spin it gives the constant alert beeping.

So does it fill to the correct level without stopping the water until level is reached & is bowl turning while it fills? What exactly happens when level is reached? Is there any beeping for an error code?

Still waiting for model number.???

If it clicks but no change what could it be? Help!!

Louise, May 2012
Yes it should be vertical. If you push it back & forward you should hear it click on & off.

Should the switch still hang down once flicked?

Louise, May 2012
Thank you! I heard a click but no change...

Out of balance lever may be stuck. Put your hand through the gap between the top of the bowl and the top deck, at the rear right hand side. You should be able to feel a plastic stick hanging down the back of the bowl. Gently pull it forward. Then try pushing it backward & you should hear the switch click. If the switch does not click then it may be stuck in the on position & will have to be replaced. If you need instruction on how to change switch, come back here with model number (found on label at back of machine)
