My player won't power up?

I just got an MP3 Player (CONWA-Made in China). It was working OK, I had it plugged in the USB port, it was doing something. The connection must've been loose because it just went blank. I can still see it as a removable memory device on my pc, I can xfer to/from fles to it, but it just won't work :(
I got it as a gift for Xmas, and basically had it working for all of 10 mins. Any way to get life back into it? Maybe the software has been corrupted? Any ideas really appreciated..

My daughters 256 conwa worked for a while then stopped. I have replaced batteries reloaded firmware and that wiped everything, it used to power up then off and now nothing after updating firmware and I cannot find a site for the company any ideas?

My Conwa uses a 512Mb SD card no worries.

I can't get the lyrics function to work though

I had a very similar problem with my brand new but VERY cheap MP3 player. What happened was I upgraded the firmware from the CD that came with it, and that blanked the whole thing. It refuses to power up. Nothing to do but return it and hope for a repair or replacement. My new motto: "Quality Shows" : )

My Conwa MP3 player bought from Coles stopped working when I replaced the dodgy battery it came with. After a few short hours of use. As with some others I can still see it as a portable memory device but I can not get it to power up either. Coles have said they will replace it but I am not hopeful that the new one will be any good

I've got one too, it stopped working after only about a half hour of play but I replaced the Dodgey Battery it came with, with an energiser and everything was fine again.
Has anyone tried putting an SD flash card into it yet? I want to know if it will accept a card over 256megs, I really want to stick a 512 or a 1gig one in it.

My one (Conwa 256M-- From Coles) is working well with rechargeable battery (NiMH-AAA 700mah).
Just make sure the battery has been fully recharged

But there is some noticeable noise when the mp3 player power on. Also no random play function, hard to search songs.

Anyway, cheap thing (AUD $99), can't expect too much.

i've got a conwa mp3 player 256mb and mine done the same thing so i took it back to the shop and got it replaced and now my conwa mp3 player works fine and if that dosent work only use AAA 1.5v alkaline because they dont seem to like rechargeable batteries because i used rechargeables and the player said they were empty and i put the battery in a tester and they were half full.

I hope that helps
