Does my heater turn itself on?

I have old Storad storage heaters in my flat. They appear to have two controls on the, both dials, which I assume control the amount of heat taken in overnight and the speed at which it's given out, as they are both marked 1-6.
Apart from that the only control is the mains switch. Do the heaters know when to turn on, i.e when my cheap electricity starts? My tarrif gives my seven hours of cheap elec overnight.
Or do I have to turn them on and off at the appropriate time?
Cheers

i too have a flat with these heaters. in the really cold weather turn the input up high to get the most heat into the heaters through the night. in warmer weather the imput rate only needs to be low. the output rate will determine how mucch heat comes out. the switches need to be on all the time when you are using the heaters but in summer can be turned off. tthe heater imputs electricity through the night, theres no need for you to manually turn them on and off. you will soon get used to them.

My guess is that if it's the same as my one, one side if for the over night electric and one side if for the day time fan heater part.

Hope it helps!!!
