Canon MP130 message: waste ink absorber almost full and as a result it will no longer print. How can I fix it?

On my Epson I took out the ink absorber pads, washed them through thoroughly, dried them out and re-installed them. A filthy messy job but it was worth it. Do it outside!! Or in an out house.
