how to change drivebelt 1950s Simpson washing machine?

I have a 1950s Simpson Washer Wringer model washing machine. The drive belt has broken and I cannot replace it from below. The manual gives no guidance and I cannot get help from Australia where it was made.
Can anyone help me please? I use it for washing working clothes etc and it is superb for that job. When it is working!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks but it is a drivebelt......just like a fanbelt in fact. We are pretty useful, mechanically-minded people but the belt cannot be put on from below. The age and value of the machine (one sold in August on ebay for 300 dollars) makes me reluctant to attempt to dismantle it from above without detailed instructions. The user manual makes no reference to it. I don't mind paying for information.

where is the belt attached to, ie motor pulley to gearbox pulley or pulsator pulley, i am not familiar with your model it being that old but they were quite simple your local motor mechanic should be able to guide you, i cannot imagine the power wringer driver by belt all old uk models were driven by cable like a speedo cable
