How to run a Sony CCD-TR330E through a computer?

Hiya I've just found a Sony CCD-TR330E camcorder (its format is Video 8) and would like to know how to run it through a computer (if possible) Thanks and answer soon!

There's no way to directly connect this analogue camcorder to a PC unless your PC happens to have some analogue to digital conversion hardware, which most won't - I'm sure you'd know about it if yours did.

These days, the easiest way to use source material from an analogue camera for digital editing is to get yourself a standalone DVD recorder, and connect the camera to that. The TR330E is quite a simple camera and outputs video and mono audio through two RCA phono leads - you should be able to connect these to equivalent inputs on any standard DVD recorder. If you record all your material to DVD, this will give you a permanent digital archive (probably safer than relying on old Video8 tapes and that old camcorder), and you'll also be able to pop the DVD in your computer and edit from that.
