the noise is probably down to incorrect combustion,has anything been changed on the gas supply side of things,like new meter or another appliance fitted to same supply.will need to check using analizer,could also be down to poor pump performance,does boiler cycle on and off quickly from cold,if so pump could have magnitite in the impellor.
