how can i fix my widney standard gas fire?

my widney gas fire will ignite but when i let go of the knob it won't stay lit have had the gas pipes cleaned so there isn't no blockages or no air lock either the pilot and jet all are ok too

Change the thermocoupling, a 10 minute job. You will get one in most hardware shops .

If this is using a thermopile , its 750 mv or 3/4 of 1 volt and self powered via the pilot flames impingement upon the thermopiles end, the unit may use a thermocouple, they are the same thing in theory however the thermocouple has but a 30mv electric voltage, which is very small either way. Both hold a pilot valve open and the thermopile actually will power the gas valve if a 750 millivolt type system.
I test these 750mv systems by using a AA battery holder from Radio Shack, they come with Positive and Negative leads from the battery and can be used to sipply 1.5 volts. I remove the thermopiles 2 leads and replace the batterys leads with them. If the system works, the thermopile is weak or bad,
