DeLonghi Magnifica Infuser jammed and tray out?

Hi my DM is jammed. The infuser is at the bottom and wont let me insert the tray, I can't turn it off (except at the back) and no button seems to spark a reset. I can't put the tray back in, the only light on is the tray ut warning light.

Thank you Jonas. (August 2023!)

In case you can put the waste disposal back into the machine but still cannot close the door without the drip tray: Insert a flat stick into the door sensor slot. The slot is located at the height of the upper edge of the door. This way I could reset the infuser position without the drip tray in place and with open door.

Jonas is a genius! Thank you!

Yes the Jonas solution as described works but did need to put a bit of cardboard under the coffee grounds container to raise it a bit as it would be when in the drip tray to allow the door to be shut.
I had tried actuating the grounds container microswitch with a thin screwdriver but of course I couldn't shut the door which needs to be done to get the machine operating. I had a problem with that microswitch in the past when it stuck, managed to free it with a screwdriver and WD40. Been ok since.

The Jonas solution worked an absolute treat. I had to wedge a small piece of cardboard under the front of the coffee waste container to elevate it slightly so that the plastic tab was in the right position to engage with the back of the front door, but then it worked.

See Jonas comment. About to kill someone then worked like a charm. Coffee grounds holder in with no drip tray. Infuser slides up. Whack in the drip tray. Problem solved

Jonas’ instructions in how to trick the machine to reset itself worked PERFECTLY! Thank you Jonas, we’d been about to give up - you’ve saved us the price of a new coffee machine!

We had exactly this problem. Tray was out and could not be fitted back in because for unknown reason, the infuser was right next to the bottom of the machine leaving no space at all to fit the drip tray back in.

We solved it by simply pushing the coffee waste disposal unit back in WITHOUT the drip tray. We closed the door of the machine and it reset itself, believing all parts to be in place - the machine moved the infuser up to its normal position and we could fit the drip tray once more.

Hi Tim

DeLonghi Magnifica Infuser jammed and tray out?
Hi my DM is jammed. The infuser is at the bottom and wont let me insert the tray, I can't turn it off (except at the back) and no button seems to spark a reset. I can't put the tray back in, the only light on is the tray ut warning light.

If the infuser is actually at the bottom you should be able to release it by using the two red tabs.
If infuser is not at the bottom you should be able to get the tray back in.

If all else fails. Unplug the machine. Remove the machine casing and carry out a manual wind of the rack. When you take the casing off you will see a long threaded shaft rack. Remove the drive motor (4 screws hold this in place) Turn the rack screw by hand to wind the infuser up/down until you can get the tray back in. Refit the motor. Power back on and test
