my sky plus box wont play back recordings or record it is not the main box but the multi room box

Planner Rebuild – Sky+ boxes



1. Press services on your Sky remote control.

2. Use the up/down arrows to highlight System Setup, then press select.

3. You will see the System Setup menu with Picture Settings highlighted.

4. Press 0 (zero), 1 then select to access the Installer Setup menu (this screen is not listed on the System Setup menu).

5. Use the up/down arrows to highlight Sky+ Planner Rebuild and press select.

6. The on-screen message: "This will take a few minutes to complete. The rebuild will stop all recordings and reboot your Sky+" will appear. Press select to continue.

7. The on-screen message: "Housekeeping please wait" will appear and take up to two minutes to clear.

8. Once complete your Sky+ box will switch itself off and then back on automatically displaying the red standby light.

9. Ensure the red standby light on the box has re-appeared, then wait for 60 seconds.

10. Press sky your remote control and the light on your Sky+ box will turn green.

I had the same thing once. I was told to turn everything off pull the plug out of the wall and leave it for about a 90 seconds. Put the plug back in the wall turn everything on and wait. This allows the set to reset. Did not work for me but it did on my mates. Give it a try who knows you might be lucky.
