how to repair tri-light holigen floor lamp?

The switch is broken and I cannot get the maximum light from the bulb...do I need a new part? Thank you for your response.

As you said, "the switch is broken". Well, partialy broken anyway.
You need to replace the switch IF you can get it out.

Remove the switch.
With it in hand, go to a good harware store. Ask for a tri-power light switch having about the same dimentions.
Install the new switch.
