bathroom light string cord?

how do i replace the old cord with a new one please as the old one snapped out of the ceiling switch

at least you make sence top trish,if its the type that has a toggle 4 inches from the switch you just cut of the old cord and fit new one,but if its the type that's fitted inside the switch just renew the switch because what the bright boy not know is the cord is fitted to the switch during manufacture and you have to take the switch apart to renew it keep up the good work top trish peccavi knows nothing

a better solution would be to fit a new switch £1.60 from screwfix

Turn off the power - remove the cover of the switch fit the new cord and pass it through the hole in the switch cover and put the cover back on.

Sometimes over-painting of the switch makes it difficult / impossible to remove the cover without smashing it to pieces first. In these cases a complete new switch is required.
