How to fix a mouse that the ball is not working right?

When I move my mouse some time the ball doesnt slide with it and I have to try several times to get to where Im going...

Yep.. better still buy an optical mouse. They have no ball and are more reliable. These days the cost of them has come down so you should be able to pick one up nice and cheap! Try ebuyer.co.uk for good prices.

Turn the mouse upside down. Remove the ball retainer ring by turning it in the direction indicated. Remove the ball. Inside the mouse you will find some rollers. They will be clagged up with muck. Carefully scrape the muck of. Replace the ball. Replace the retainer ring. If that doesn't fix it buy a new mouse.
