zanussi washing machine motor won't run?

Hi, we have a Zanussi Essential 1600 and the motor will not run in any mode. The drum and motor are free running and the belt is connected and intact. The brushes seem to be fine but not entirely sure. Can anyone help at all please?

the carbon bit of the motor brushes has to be10mm or more to work.new ones are 40mm or more
