How can I fix the problem with my LG top loader model WF-T857?

hi, im having difficulty trouble shooting my LG washing machine?? This is the problem to my best description....As soon as i press the power button to turn on the machine it immediatly starts to fill with water, this is before i have even selected a wash cycle and pressed the start button!! it keeps filling uncontrollably until the bowl almost overflows!! then all of a sudden the pump kicks in and starts to pump water out of the drain pipe. so i have both the water filling up the bowl at the same time as the pump is pumping the water out! any help would be greatly appreciated. im wondering is it an inlet water solenoid issue, because when i took the top cover off i saw 3 connections going to 3 solenoids that were mounted just on the other side of where the hoses screw onto, when i pulled all 3 connections off the solenoids i was then able to turn machine on as normal and select wash cycles ect, and as normal i just pressed the start button and it started working??? but as soon as i reconnected the 3 solenoids, the problem happened as i had explained earlier.cheers
