How can I get XP to recognise a 2nd (partly filled) drive?

I have just fitted an additional HDD (not new) to a Mesh PC using XP. The PC recognises the drive and has allocated a drive letter (D) but I cannot add/delete software through the control panel. How do I integrate the additional drive?

Right-click on your My Computer Icon. Select Manage. The Computer Management Window will open.

Select Disk Management. Find your new drive and look at the status information to determine if it is ready to use. It should say "healthy".

(It may be that your new hard disk needs to be formatted.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "integrate the additional drive". If the disk status is "healthy" then you should be able to start to use it.
