Replacing the heating element in a towel rail?

I need to replace the element in a wall-mounted towel rail but am concerned that there appears to be no thermostatic control. I don't like the idea of a 300w unit running continuously.

The unit was bought from Homebase and the element is a 'RICA' type 2597.

Thank you for the advice. I shall check with Homebase first. Thanks again.

Most towel rails do not have stats they work by heat loss coefficient in other words the heat produced by the element is lost by conduction from the surfaces of the rail so they will only reach a redetermined temperature,so it is imperative that the correct element is used
