HELP!!
We have recessed spotlights fitted in our kitchen, hall and son's bedroom. They are Aurora AU-GUF 11/64's and are quite expensive at around £8 each. In three years I must have bought about 30 replacements - we are really fed up of this. We live in a bungalow and have very good loft insullation - could this be the answer problem - are they overheating and blowing? If so, do we need to just pull the insullation away from them or do we need to fit fire hoods?

bulbs not lasting is due to two things,either you are touching them with your fingers,(this leaves a grease spot on them)or your are buying cheap bulbs,or,its an over voltage from your mains,but if over voltage then all your electrical units,i.e tv video etc would be blown to bits,so buy better bulbs or read the box they come in,it states do NOT touch with fingers

No the length from tip to end (including the fitting knobs) is around 76mm long - I think we are stuck with these bulbs - and yes I think I will get in touch with our supplier - many thanks for your suggestions.

Is the 64 in the lamp type referring to the length because on EBay there are some 8 and 9 watt GU10 led lamps that are 72mm and 63 mm long respectively,they cost 29.99 for 10,but if in doubt you can contact the seller or just buy 1 to try it

The fittings, as far as I can gather are just for those bulbs as normal GU13's don't fit - so if we changed it we would have to change the full fitting and as we have about 20 of them this would be costly - however, if we can't sort this out I think we will have to go down that route.

They should last for 8000 hours,if they are failing get in touch with your supplier.Does it say on the box that they need to be well ventilated? these type of lamps are made for this situation. have you considered LED lamps instead they should last for 50000 hours and are cheaper to buy
