i can only get connection with a ethernet cable on my packard bell easynote notebook, from my modem,no wifi,any help will be very greatfull many thanks

Have you checked the silly mistakes first? Laptops often have a button which turns off the laptop's wireless mode.

You could try deleting the driver and letting Windows reinstall a driver.

Can you see any wireless networks, and are just having trouble connecting or do you not see any networks?
