Does this washer machine have a system in it to shut it down IF it goes off balance? My wifes washer goes off balance too often. Big loads, to little loads, it can go off balance. I've had the front off while it's washing and spinning , and nothing "looks" wrong?

Yes. The Maytag A412 does stop if the load is unbalanced. I have an A412 and that happens on rare occasions.
