I have a Vaillant atmoMAG water heater that lately has starting igniting to full power as soon as i turn the flame up, before I turn any tap on. Also, when I turn the tap off it doesn't stop working. Any advice?

The AtmoMag has a traditional water section rather than the more modern aqua sensor.
this water section is run by diaphragm/push rod, and the only thing that will bring it on as described, is the pin is stuck in the 'up' position usually caused by a leaking stuffing box on top of the water valve.
