My Trinitron is driving us crazy! It keeps flashing the "Sony Initial Set Up" box in the middle of the screen. I have tried performing the Auto Program, removing batteries from the remote, powereing up/down...all NG! Sometimes it stays off for a while...most times the box flashes on and off repeatedly. Sounds like a memory or program problem. Sony help line was of NO help! Any ideas out there?

I am having the same problem. My lovely soon to be ex-wife just swapped me our Sony Trintron for another "not as good" TV. Guess I got rooked! I am getting the Inital Set-Up box. Very, very annoying.

I am currently getting the exact same error as you have described. Did you ever figure out a solution? We just moved from one location to another and this began right after.
