The dogs are actually called agitator cams. The whole asembly is called the cam-agitator assembly. I replaced mine last week. It cost $10.55 and took less than 5 minutes. If I would have replaced just the cams, it would have cost a little over $4.00. I decided to buy the whole assembly.
Just go to Sears.com and type "parts" into their search engine. Put your model number in the box provided and hit go. You will get a list of the major parts of your washer. Look at the diagrams provided to locate the part number you want. Go back to the previous page and enter how many you want, and go to check out to see what it costs for your model. I had the parts two days after I ordered them.
Pull the softner dispenser off and remove the inner cap. The cam assembly is right below it. Use a half inch drive ratchet and extention to remove the old assemby and use the ratched to install the new assembly.
One last thing. Buy a new O-ring for the cap that covers this assembly. I didn't realize ours was bad until I went to replace the cam assembly. The O-ring is probably what caused the problem to begin with.
