Potterton Performa 30 HE flame failure?

The burner lights, then the flame goes out, then the flame failure LED comes on. Any ideas?
Jeremy Lewis, September 2014
Of course it may not be the thermocouple at all - it may be the control electronics failing to properly recognise the signal from the sensor.

It will be very unlikely to be both of these things - very, very unlikely.

I would guess that the device that detects the heat from the flame (themocouple) is defective - the control electronics think that there is no flame - light the flame failure led and shut things down.

A specialist engineer may be your best approach.

Good luck...
