The Digilogic VCR/ DVD Comi Model no DVDVCR2 was set to go with a dvd in it with no problem, when we then tried to play it, whichever button you pressed either on the machine or on the remote, the word SAFE appears on the display. We connot eject the dvd, so we tried to play a video tape, that too is now stuck. There is no mention of the word SAFE in the manual. We have tried switching it off, even for several hours. Hold down the red power button on remote control only. This can take up to 30 seconds to remove safe mode.

I found this....

Hold down power on vcr/dvd unit or the remote for 8 seconds. It turns the SAFE mode on or off.

You never know - it might work...
