Boiler boom?

i have really old halstead floor standing boiler which works perfectly but makes really loud booming noise when it fires up. Really scary. Had it serviced but guy could not find any faults. Any ideas?

loud bangs could be due to a few things but i would have thought it would have been picked up during a service.

loud bangs when firing up could be due to, to much gas pressure going into the burner.
possibly as a result of a damaged burner or faulty gas valve.
a good engineer will no exactly how to check this.
