I have an older model Simpson esprit 550 that only agitates to the right, making all of the clothes coil around the agitator? It will agitate normally if it's a hot day?? And it makes a growling sound when it tries to turn to the left and then eventually it will come good and operate normally after it's stammered and growled and then warmed up???
Sounds like the clutch spring is seizing up. Clutch ratchet and inner spring will need to be taken off the lower gearbox plate and inspected for wear or damage. Then re greased and put back
