help to complete this ckt wiring?

In the attached picture the 3 components have to be wired up ,the battery connection, the clock mechanism and the speaker wiring. The speaker is 8 ohms and rated 0.25 watt, the battery pack is 2x1.5 volts. While dismantling the clock Igot all the wires mixed up.So pls someone guide me to fix up this hour on the hour chiming clock that has reminded me... show more

Thank you for your suggestions, but the clock is powered separetly by a single 1.5 v battery .Can you please tell me how I can attach a photo of the entire components so you can get a better picture. The ckt board has pairs of wires that need to be connected to the battery pack, the clock mechanism, and the speaker. The connection to the clock to be made to two wires coming out of the clock body and when the hour is up the mechanism inside shorts the wires and this sets the chimes depending on the hour.If you can explain to me how to post a photo Iwill send you so that you will be better able to help, thank you for your time.

Ah! I forgot to add - sorry...

For each pair of wires 1/2 1/3 1/4 et cetera that you apply to the battery pack to make the clock run - also apply them the other way round 2/1 3/1 4/1 and so on so you get the reverse polarity.

The polarity (the way round) does not matter for the speaker wires - the speaker doesn't care.

Mukhi, the diagram doesn't show and you do not say how many wires you have - I expect there to be four of them.

Number them 1-2-3 & 4 -use little stickers.
Take 1 & 2 and attach them to the battery pack
If the clock runs then 3& 4 should go to the speaker.

If not...

Take 1 & 3 and connect to the battery pack - see what happens

Take 1& 4
Then 2& 3
Then 2&4
Then 3&4

At the end of this process on pair of wires will be making the clock rum - when you know which two work the clock mechanism the other two will be for the speaker - just concentrate on the clock - ignore the speaker until you have the clock running.

Good luck..., August 2015
