we have a marley garage erected by previous owners in 1994. Surveyors report says not asbestos, another company says asbestos. How can we find out who is right.

The answer will be down to which report requires you to spend money.

The no asbestos report will require no further expenditure

The asbestos report will give you the option of paying for disposal services.

When you call in a damp proofing company to do a survey - guess what? - they will always find damp.

If in any doubt you might contact the local authority - you might pretend you intend to put a new roof on and would like advice on disposal of the existing roof.
