Ferolli modena 80e HELP !!!!?

hi all,
i have a ferroli modena 80e in the house i have just brought, within the past 3 months i am sick of reseting the boiler as every now and then i will look at the boiler and see the red warning light, (it seems to annoy the missus more tho lol) a quick reset seems to do the trick and will work for maybe half an hour when the ch is being used or half way through running a bath !
i have also found that the pressure drops right to nothing but when i run the hot water the pressure goes up to around 2.5, Can anyone advise all comments greatly appreciated

ok, eventually i got fed up and called out british gas, fixed charge call out they replaced my gas valve (got me money worth) was working fine for a few days now when dhw or ch call for heat, the power light is on and the water or ch led come on, it clicks a few times but does not even try to ignite, i have replaced the safety thermostat on the pipe but still nothing, can i state that the warning (red) led DOES NOT come on. i have noticed one thing tho when i was fidling with the thermostat and giving it a wiggle, lifting it etc it sparked and fired the boiler dont know if this makes any sense PLEASE HELP, thanks Craig

First thing's first, you need to adjust the pressure and check the expansion vessel, when cold you should have 1Bar of pressure in the appliance...

The expansion vessel should also be at 1Bar, but you need to empty the boiler of all of it's water to check this accurately.

If the appliance is low on water, it can sometimes pull air into the heat exchanger, causing the appliance to overheat and trip... By what you are are describing, the underlying cause will be that the expansion vessel has lost its charge.
