I need to restore my clocks abilty to chime?

I have a daniel dakota battery operated grandfather clock. I attempted to change batteries in the chime batt. chamber and the chamber broke so that it wont hold the batteries, therefore no contact. I would like to buy a new one. I only have the assembly instructions and it does not mention a model. It is c. 6 ft. tall and has a batt. chamber for the clock, one for the pendulum, and one for the 'chimer' which is the broken one. The broken one is wired to the clock chamber and to the speaker for the chime. Where can I find one? I can find chambers at places like Radio Shack but they don't have one specific to chimimg. HELP!!!

You need a common style battery holder that takes the same number of battery cells as your broken battery holder - do not waste your time trying to find something identical - the key requirement is how many cells did the previous battery holder accommodate - 1 cell = 1.5V / 2 cells = 3V / 4 cells = 6V etc.

The chimer will not care as long as it gets the voltage it needs.

If your work is untidy nobody will know if it's all tucked away and hidden inside the clock case.

Good Luck..., November 2015
