F&P Smart Drive GW512 Motor Controller Fault ?

Hi there, I have been reading this forum with interest and have learned heaps. I have put my machine into diagnostic mode and am getting a fault code (3) telling me the motor controller is faulty. What I'm concerned about is why it faulted. It would be easy to replace it and fry a new one. I've checked the pump motor looks OK. It tests at 15.5 ohms. Any ideas?

Need to know what country you are in & what voltage the power is where you are? In NZ at 230V the drain pump should be 33.5 ohms. A pump with only 15 ohms would damage the controller. That error code (if correct) is unusual & I would assume it was a software problem rather than a physical problem on the pcb. The new controller should come with an instruction sheet telling you what to check before installing the control board & how to set the size of the machine in to memory. Just be aware that if you are not a certified repair technician then F&P will not give you any warranty.

Just to clarify. The bearings were really worn out. Could this cause the motor controller fault?
