Fisher and Paykel GWL15- Fault #49 Fill problems - help!?

Hi, I have a new Fisher and Paykel washer - GWL15 - that suddenly stopped and gave the following light display (w/continuous beeps):

Out of the 8 lights across top, # 3 and 4 (of washes) and the last (spin) lights are lit.

Unit is still under warranty, so I called F&P and was told it was a fill problem. Because it's so close to the holidays, a technician can't get here for almost two weeks!!!

So, is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I've replaced timers and pumps and belts on older machines years ago, so I'd like to take a crack at this rather than wait.

Thanks!!!
Sharon

(I first tried unplugging - got the same error when restarted.)

Changed cold valve in about 15 minutes with help online write ups. My GWL11 problem was an error 49, fill problem. Washer would fill initially but only with hot water. Then would not fill for any later wash/rinse cycles. It would spin, dripping in water, and eventually timeout and beep. Repair guy looked at it quoted $420 plus tax for cold valve replacement. Machine is nearly 3 yrs old so that wasn't worth it. Ordered part from sears (which came to $48 w/ tax and shipping) Part # 420238P.
I also went in and turned off 'controlled cold' so the valve is no longer trying to heat the incoming cold water to 60 degrees. Light is now amber for uncontrolled cold so new valve has less to do. Cold valves ecosmart design is too smart - breaks often. Replacing it fixed the error 49 fill problem.

This also happened to us on an older model GWL11, and when I called Fisher Paykel they said it was fault 49, but that it was a cold water valve, or both cold and hot water valvle, and possibly the motor controller. It would be nice to know more about where to find and fix these faults.

Nevermind. The store took it back and gave me a replacement. Another brand new GWL15 - that will hopefully last longer than 4 weeks. ;) Hey, the first one worked GREAT right up to the point when it didn't work at all...
