how do i fix the banging noise that sounds like a ballbearing in the machin?

i have a hotpoint first edition washing machine 1000rpm.
i have just had the bearing replaced, but the engineer said that the pulled was worn, and it is making a banging noise that sounds like there is a ball bearing, or metal piece stuck, and it clatters when spinning at low or high speed. i have taken the machne to bits , do i need to split the drum?

Might even be the wire out of a 'wired' bra ! As pappyon says, it could be stuck between the inner and outer drum. You should be able to pull it out easily if this is the case.

Just a thought.

I had the same problem as you only my machine is a Hotpoint WM76. It turned out to be the drum spider had cracked and then split right across on one of the legs. Then again if you had the same fault, surely the engineer would have seen this when he was changing the bearings.

I got Hotpoint out to it under the 5 year parts guarantee. It only cost me £90 all in.

Might it not be a coin trapped between the stainless wash drum and the outer plastic drum?
