Why does my kenwood amplifier flashes "p-off"?

My older Kenwood system is over 10 years old.
the display on the amplifier flashes a message " p-off".
There is no outout sound to any of the components.
Any help?

Mine does the exact same thing and it's around the same age. I notice if I leave it off for an extended amount of time, it will work again for about an hour or 2. Then every time I turn it off then on again, it will "P-OFF" instantly. I'm assuming it's a safety feature that's normally triggered when you're trying to push the speakers too hard, but it's getting a little annoying now. Now I'm P'd OFF that I don't know how to fix it. Any help from an expert out there would be great.
