My coby portable dvd player reads "no disc" when a disc is in?

My Coby TFDVD 5000 player read "no disc" when there is a disc in the player. I've read the manual and tried troubleshooting, and it still reads "no disc". How can I fix it?

try checking the optical wire to see if there's loose connection or burned up...

I had the same issue. Called the manufactuer and they said that there are dust particles on the lazer eye and to get a dvd disk cleaner with brushes, cost aroun $12US. The other down side is that your lazer eye may be damaged somehow and if that is the case, toss the player as it would cost more to repair it that the unit is worth. Allen
