Computer locks and reqires password frequently?

Toshiba laptop Model- Equium A60-692 (Windows XP)

Whilst working, a window appears showing computer is locked, and asks for password. On resumption of work, the window reappears within a few minutes, and the cycle repeats itself.

How can I lose this window, and return to normal working ?
Thank you !

Hi, on a unused bit of your desktop screen, right click, and go down to properties, click that, which should then be a DISPLAY PROPERTIES box. At the top of that window, there should be a tab called SCREEN SAVER which you need to click on. Underneath the monitor icon you should see a screen saver setting, WAIT... (untick this) and pick NONE as the screen saver....Hope this works ok!

Click Start -> Control Panel
double click Display
select the screen saver tab
UnTick "On resume, password protect"
Click Apply then Ok
