Washing machine faulty on certain programmes?

Hello all,

I have a frontloading, standalone, hot & cold feed washing machine, (make/model: Beko/WMA1614W).
The machine has been operating fine for approximately three years but has developed a fault over the past six months.
This fault initially expressed itself in the following manner; on cotton cycle only, the fabric conditioner would not discharge from the soap dish.
Now there is a soapy residue on the clothes after the cotton cycle only, in addition to the non-discharge of conditioner.
All other cycles appear to operate as intended.
I have thoroughly inspected the machine as recommended in the O&M doc and all is in order. I have also performed a maintenance wash but to no avail.
I greatly appreciate an opinion on what component may be defective / recommendation on whether to repair or scrap.

Cheers
Sbg

check the linkage between the program selector dial and the soap dispenser. This should be purely a mechanical problem, it maybe with the program selector dial cam not aligned correctly on the programmer (90 degrees out ??) so there is a mismatch with the programmer opening up the soap dispenser at the wrong point in the wash sequence.

hello Phil,
I inspected that wire between the soap box and the timer.
It appears to be operating fine. These is suffient tension and it adjusts the control valve on the soap dish when I rotate the dial through the varoius cycles.

Hello Phil,
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately I will not be back in the house for a week to inspect this wire but I will get back to you on my findings.
I would like to point out that I actually had a service technician inspect the machine after the initial fault (conditioner would not dispense) six months ago.
During his visit, he removed the top panel, inspected all parts and was satisified with what he saw but could not diagnoise the faulty component.
He did said it could be the selector or the PCB but was not 100% sure and suggested that it would be cheaper to buy a new machine or live with the fault as it was minor. ie conditioner not dispensing.
I agreed and no further work was carried out on the machine.
The machine has had very little use and I really didnt want to purchase a new machine either.
This fault has got worse since that inspection and I hoped that the latest problem (soapy residue in clothes after cotton wash) could conclude which component has failed.
I didnt want to mention this detail in my initial correspondence as it may have confused the question.
