My dvd recorder is stuck in the dvd mode. Can't open the dvd drive. No response if you press the open/close button manually or by remote.When ever you power it on it automatically goes to the dvd stuck mode. Please advise how to fix this problem? How can i bypass the open/close button? I suspect a dvd or cd is stuck inside but am afraid that forcebly opening the drive will damage it permanently.

Very easy. Unplug the dvd recorder. Unscrew the 4 screws in the front (2 on each side) and the 3 screws on the back (small black ones) this will enable you to pull the lid off and simply pull the disc out

Unscrew the top of the case, pull back & up to remove. Unscrew the top of the DVD drive, remove stuck DVD. Put back to together. If this does not work, throw in trash and buy new DVD player.

Unplug the DVD recorder from the mains, and leave it unplugged for 24 hours (yes, really!). Then plug it back in while holding down the 'eject DVD' button on the machine itself (not the one on the remote).

First power DVD but ensure unit is in standby (clock only).
Then hold down 'Stop' and 'CHANNEL UP' together on the front panel for 5-10secs.
