How can I fix my kohlangaz gas fire?

The fire went out one evening and refuses to relight. Pilot light comes on but goes as soon as I release the pressure. I have replaced the thermocoupler and the only component left is the gas valve. Does anyone know how I can test the valve before buying another

Is the pilot flame well on the thermocouple? Does it stay the same size when the main burner is turned on. If not, either the pilot jet needs cleaning( dismantle on blow/suck the jet, DO NOT try to prick it out) or the regulator is faulty. Alternatively the Junkers valve in the back of the gas valve is faulty. NOTE; To work on gas appliances you need to be CORGI registered.

I have the Kohlangaz Combustion 16 gas fire and have had the same problem. In my case, the engineer called their technical dept and was told it is the battery pack (the fire is remote control) In my case, it lights in manual mode, but not on automatic mode. Dont know if this helps at all.
