How to use the 'boost' setting on my Dimplex Storage Heater?

I have a Dimplex model CXL 18N Series B Which has an 'input' dial 1-9 and a 'room temp boost' dial marked 1-9 with instructions - no boost=1 late boost=2 early boost=9. Can anyone tell me what the boost settings relate to.

yes the boost setting ajusts a bar at the top of the heater under the cover which allows the heat out so for an early boost set to 9 which means the bar is fully open and letting all the heat it can out, but in doing this will cool the bricks quicker and for early boost opens just slighty therefore keeping the heat for a longer period of time over the course of a few hours
