My model is a Phillips GR1. The following methods may well work for others as well: All done on TV, NO remote!
The GR1 has 40 channels...from 0-39. Go to channel 38, and press the + Control button. This switches off the Child Lock.
Next, press STORE followed by + Control. This starts off the channel search. each time it stops on a channel, press + again, until the picture you want appears. Then press Channel+ or - to pick the channel number where you want to store it. Finally press STORE.

This is a late answer but I just figured it out...

Put your television on standbye, then press the STOP button on the remote. Then press the left and right arrow buttons at the same time. This brings up the installation menu where you can manually or automatically tune each channel.

I also have a phillips 14pv163 tv that i need to tune. The manual says press the left and right button on the remote control at the same time to enter the installation menu. But I dont have the remote control. Does anyone know how to enter the installation menu using just the buttons on the tv itself?

In brief, you don't press the "Menu" button, but press the left and right arrow buttons simultaneously - that takes you to the "Settings" menu, including Autostore and Manual Store.
