Goodmans 32" Wide Screen Green - Red screen - Horizontal lines?

Hi guys. I have a Goodmans 32" widescreen TV. The problem started a few months ago when you could notice on a black screen that the black was actually green and that there were several diagonal lines going from left to right. Now, the TV will frequently display an almost totally red display. If the set it turned off and then on, the problem will sometimes go away for a while.
Since the red problem has arrived, when the set is powered on, the screen will sometimes light up green (sometimes very bright too) shortly before coming on.
Since the initial problem first started, it's possible to see the green flickering on a black background (like the black is trying to come through).
The sound and picture quality in general are not affected by this problem.
Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated, so thank you in advance for even reading this article!

Thank you very much for that advice. I'll give it a try on Friday and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again

David

resolder the joints on the litle panel on the neck of the tube. chances are there's a heat related probem failing that, related resistors may have risen in value. i would take it to a tech for proper diagnosis
